Plektis browser extensions do not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All data stays on your device.
Data Storage
Our extension stores a small amount of information in your browser on your device, including:
- A secure version of your password (your actual password is never saved)
- A secure version of your recovery code
- Your list of whitelisted YouTube channels
- Your extension settings, such as whether blocking is turned on, your colour theme preference, and whether setup has been completed
This information stays on your device and never leaves your browser. It is never sent to our remote servers or shared with any third party.
What our extensions don't do
- No analytics or tracking
- No cookies
- No user accounts or sign-ups
- No network requests — our extensions operate entirely within your browser
- No advertising
Permissions
Our extensions request only the permissions needed to function:
TubeStopper
- Detect the current YouTube channel when you click "Whitelist this channel"
- Save your whitelist and colour settings locally
- Update opened YouTube tabs when the whitelist changes
- Interact with YouTube pages to only show videos allowed in your whitelist
Data Deletion
Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data. You can also clear extension data through your browser's settings.
